Kids Helping Kids Santa Barbara is an entirely student run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit based out of Providence School in Santa Barbara, California dedicated to serving kids locally and globally. At Kids Helping Kids, we believe that learning is best by doing, and doing is best by serving others, so, along with partners from San Marcos and Dos Pueblos High Schools, KHK is putting on our 18th benefit concert.
This year, KHK is partnering with Set Beautiful Free, an organization based in India that is working to free kids from human trafficking. All the proceeds of the concert will go to Set Beautiful Free
This year, we are excited to announce that the critically acclaimed, soulful singer-songwriter duo, JOHNNYSWIM will be the opener for Kids Helping Kids Santa Barbara benefit concert. Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez met in Nashville, started writing songs together, fell in love and formed their band JOHNNYSWIM in 2005.
Some of their recognizable successes include a television show dedicated to them on The Magnolia Network, as well as having their song “Home” be featured on HGTV’s hit series “Fixer Upper'' to name a few. Over the last 18 years, the duo sold out tour dates on multiple continents, performed on both the Today and Tonight Show’s, earned acclaim from NPR to Rolling Stone, and have gathered over 500,000 monthly Spotify streams. We are also excited to announce that the Grammy award winning band SwitchFoot will be the headliner for this year's concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their The Beautiful Letdown tour. Switchfoot has sold over 10 million copies worldwide of their thirteen studio albums (including their 2003 triple-platinum breakthrough The Beautiful Letdown and 2009's Grammy Award-winning Hello Hurricane), racked up a string of Alternative radio hit singles, and performed sold-out tours with over 5 million concert tickets sold in over 40 countries around the world. Through their unique blend of emotionally intelligent and uplifting brand of alternative rock, Switchfoot has earned a devoted and loyal global fan base. Switchfoot has raised over $2.5 million dollars to aid kids in their community through their Bro-Am Foundation. Switchfoot consists of Jon Foreman (vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass), Jerome Fontamillas (keys, guitar) and Chad Butler (drums).
Both JOHNNYSWIM and Switchfoot are long time supporters of Kids Helping Kids, and we are overjoyed to have them back this year. We cannot wait to see you at the concert, and continue to serve kids internationally.
