An Evening with
Carli Lloyd
Tue, Jan 26 / 6:30 PM / Arlington Theatre

“Playing like a girl means you’re a badass.” – President Barack Obama, while honoring the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team at the White House

“Carli Lloyd isn’t just on a roll. She has morphed into a one-woman tsunami.”USA Today

Soccer champion Carli Lloyd captured the world’s attention when she executed one of the greatest individual performances ever in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup final. She scored three goals in the first 16 minutes, landing two in the first five minutes of the game. Millions of viewers watched as she became the first woman to score a hat trick in a World Cup final and the second person in history to accomplish this exceptional feat. Only a few years earlier, she had considered giving up on her dream altogether. Dejected after being cut from the U.S. Under-21 team, Lloyd found inspiration in athletes like Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali, who “trained when nobody was watching.” She is a testament to the power of hard work and perseverance, instilling youth everywhere with the confidence to succeed.

What perseverance, skill, confidence and sheer guts are needed to perform like soccer star Carli Lloyd, whose stunning three goals at the Women’s World Cup finals placed her squarely in sports history? Come hear the Olympic Gold Medalist discuss this and more in a conversation plus can’t-miss Q&A.
