Lindsey Stirling brought Christmas early to the Arlington Theater this year, stopping by Santa Barbara with her “Warmer in the Winter” Tour.
It was a 1950’s style winter wonderland at the Arlington, complete with Technicolor visuals and cute choreographed dancers, as Stirling delivered a high-energy performance catered to delight audiences of all ages. Two tuxedo sporting band members and four nymph-like dancers supported the electronic violinist as she led the audience through the holiday delight. “We have Christmas before Thanksgiving. Who’s offended?” Stirling asked, “Well, take off your Grinch pants!”
Stirling made dancing while playing the violin look effortless, even easily improvising the violin noise with her voice when a roadie missed his mark and was late delivering her violin on-stage. The show was fast paced and energetic, engaging the audience with its full-holiday flair. A self-proclaimed daughter of God, Stirling took moments throughout the show to share personal stories of faith and triumph with her guests. “There are many sides of Christmas, from joyful to spiritual to reflective,” Stirling shared as she went into her rendition of “Hallelujah.”
A unique combination of visuals and sound, of fun and sentiment, of dance and song, the show embodied all that is right in a holiday show – proving it is never too early for Christmas.
